Things you should know before drilling a well on your property

There are some basic measurements used in most counties. The well needs to be:
       10 feet from nearest property line in city lots.
       50 feet from the nearest property line.
       50 feet from city sewer tight lines.
       50 feet from creeks.
       100 feet from septic fields and septic tanks.
       100 feet from animal enclosures.

The well drilling company has to apply for your well drilling permit, so a plot plan will need to be submitted.
Other things to consider are:
       Home owner associations
       Local city bylaws
