A standard pressure system has 4 main components.

1: Controller
The controller for a standard system allows connections for incoming power and the motor leads. The control boxes come in a variety of voltages and hp ratings.

2: Pressure Switch
The pressure switch  turns the power off or on to the pump controller. The pressure switch's turn off and turn on settings are adjustable by changing the tension on the springs that are located in the switch.

3: Pump & Motor
The motor on these pumps can be either three phase or single phase depending on what the incoming power is.  The pumps and motors come in many different sizes.

4: Pressure Tank
The pressure tank on a standard system needs to be able to allow the motor to run 1 to 2 minutes with all the valves shut off. This prevents the pump from cycling and helps extend the motor life.
