Septic Systems are very closely monitored by your County Health department.

There are a couple of things to take in to account before installing a new system or even upgrading. An engineer will have to design your system, this will include soil samples tests and perk tests. These test results, along with the engineered prints, will need to be turned in to the county health department for approval. If you are designing a new system keep in mind that you will need to set aside space for a reserve field in case the first one fails.

Some of the testing mentioned above will also require permits through your County Health Department.
